Building use, importance & newsworthiness: The owners desired a family vacation Shome to enjoy on one of their rural farms, and host family and friend at parties and gatherings. They chose a large living and game room area with loft bedrooms to entertain. The design is a great alternative to a cabin, offering large clear span for openness to the owners’ beautiful farm and pond.
Unique features: The bronze and sand exterior steel was a peaceful color scheme for the farm surrounded by water and trees. The owners chose durable verseta stone for wainscoting. The interior incorporated an open staircase, stained concrete floors and an overlooking second-story loft.
Post-frame advantage: The ease and quickness gave the owners a large clear span to their new space. They were also able to design a loft into their second level, giving the owners usable space for bedrooms as well as a shop to park farm equipment.
